Angles worth knowing

Three things that tend to be the story.

The business model. Free download, no ads, no subscription, no consumables. Packs are one-time unlocks and nothing you buy improves your score. In a category where multiplayer usually sits behind a subscription and free apps carry tracking, that arrangement is the unusual part.

One purchase, two players. Invite someone to a match on a pack you own and they play it without owning it. In a category where multiplayer is usually the thing behind the paywall, Corto gives it away: the person who bought the pack is effectively sharing it every time they issue a challenge.

The classroom angle. Ten free learning packs cover the countries of every continent, US states, German states, French departments and Dutch provinces, with place names translated into all five languages. Rated 4+, no chat, no account.

The studio. One person, the Netherlands, no publisher and no growth team. 177 packs and more than 21,500 questions built solo.

How to write the name

Corto, capital C, no stylization. On first mention, "Corto, a geography game for iPhone and iPad" reads best. The tagline is "Geography at full speed", lowercase after the first word.
